As a fully independent party, we provide insurers and employers with a flexible range of services for the settlement of death-in-service claims.

When navigating affairs following a death in service, it is of the utmost importance to handle a subsequent group life claim with diligence and sensitivity. Appointing ZEDRA as your arrangement’s trustee guarantees exactly that.

You can rely on us to assume the trustee’s responsibility to carry out a comprehensive yet respectful investigation, determine the correct beneficiaries and settle the benefits due accordingly.

For insurers

  • We act as the trustee to the insurer’s group life arrangement
  • We undertake a thorough yet sensitive investigation into the personal circumstances of the deceased at their time of death, to ensure potential beneficiaries are identified and considered
  • We assume the burden of determining the rightful beneficiaries for the death-in-service benefits and ensure that the life assurance benefits are paid quickly and efficiently

For employers

When navigating affairs following a death in service, it is of the utmost importance to handle a subsequent group life claim with diligence and sensitivity. Appointing ZEDRA as your arrangement’s trustee guarantees exactly that.

  • We act as the trustee to an employer’s dedicated trust arrangement
  • The cover is presented and communicated as part of your employee benefit package
  • You continue to use your existing insurance policy and manage reviews and premium payments
  • Fully independently of the employer, we carry out a thorough yet sensitive investigation into the personal circumstances of the deceased at their time of death, to ensure potential beneficiaries are identified and considered
  • We will ensure the life assurance you provide your employees is paid quickly and efficiently.

ZEDRA Group Life Master Trust

The ZEDRA Group Life Master Trust is designed for employers who want a simple and efficient alternative to setting up their own life-only trust for administering death-in-service benefits.

ZEDRA will assume the burden of setting up the trust, carrying out a thorough yet sensitive investigation into the personal circumstances of the deceased at their time of death and determining beneficiaries for death-in-service benefits.

  • Each employer is given their own dedicated section of the trust
  • This can be white labelled, allowing you to present the trust as part of your employee benefits package
  • You continue to use your existing insurance policy and manage reviews and premium payments
  • We will administer the entire claims process – from beneficiary investigation, through determination, to payment

Group Life Claims Process

ZEDRA’s role as Trustee is to determine who should benefit from the Lump Sum Cover payable under the Trust following the death of an employee who is eligible under an employer sponsored Group Life policy.

Group Life Master Trust Data Protection Policy

Looking after the personal data we hold as part of our beneficiary investigations is hugely important to us. We want you to be confident that your data is safe and secure with us, understand how we use it, and who we share it with.
